Steve Blumenthal
Steve graduated from El Paso High School in 1966 where he was elected President of
the Student Body and participated in Speech & Drama, Student Council, and football.
He attended New Mexico State University, graduating with honor in Animal Science.
While at NMSU, he was recognized as the Outstanding Student of Agriculture, served as
President of the Block & Bridle Club, was a member of the Corbett Center Advisory
Board, and was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Steve served in the U.S. Army with overseas assignments totaling 30 months, including
duty on an Advisory Team in Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation
Medal for Meritorious Service on three occasions during his overseas deployments.
Professionally, Steve began as Breed Improvement Director for a beef cattle association
and took-on responsibilities for internal marking and, for a period, as Interim Executive
Director. He later built a career spanning nearly three decades in private investigations,
specialized security, and crisis management consulting.
Dedicated to service, Steve has been an active member of the El Paso High School
Alumni Association, serving as an association officer and member of the Centennial
Celebration Organizing Committee. He has been a regular volunteer for the annual CD
Jarvis Basketball Tournament and has been editor of the tournament’s print program.
Steve contributes his time to El Paso High as a Volunteer in Public Schools. His
involvement includes serving on the Campus Improvement Team, assisting with Cub
Camp and other student activities.
