At Mesita Elementary in 1952, participated in a pilot program immersing English-speaking students into Spanish-only classes

Graduate of El Paso High School (1964) — involved in Spur Staff, National Honor Society, Pre-Med, and served as Program Manager

Earned a B.A. Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)
